Reading Notes: Russian Folktale, Part B

The Warlock Russian Fairy Tales by W. R. S. Ralston (1887):
A man had three married sons. As he was about to die he gave them all orders. The wives were to watch over his body for three nights after he died. Sewing a shirt for him.
The first night the first wive sat spinning the thread when the dad came out of the coffin and strangled her. The next night the second wife did her duty and the same thing happened to her. So the third night the last wife told the man she had removed her cross necklace when in fact she had not. When he came out to strangle her she put the cross on him and he died. she looked in the coffin and saw it full of money.
