Hi, my name is Katlyn Stewart and I am from Tulsa, Oklahoma.
I am a senior majoring in marketing from the Price College of Business and will be graduating in December 2018.
Since January I have been working doing social media marketing for several companies. My largest is an amusement park located outside of Los Angeles, California. I have learned a lot of about the online marketing career and I hope to continue my work in this field once I graduate. I love the idea of being able to work anytime from anywhere. There are so many possibilities with the new area of social media marketing and I am excited to explore them.
This summer I took a trip to my favorite place, Disney World, for about the 10th time, but this year I actually got engaged there. It was one of the best days of my life. Andy and I have been to Disney 7 times together so now it is really special that we have this great memory there. We have now set the date and we will be getting married on May 16, 2020.
I absolutely love dogs so on August 27th, 2016 my fiancé Andy and I adopted a 9 month old dog named Lola. We rescued her from Second Chance here in Norman and it was the best decision. I could not picture my life without her now. I absolutely am all for adopt don't shop and I can't wait until we are able to adopt another little fur baby. But Lola is absolutely spoiled and enjoys being an only dog.

My favorite foods are definitely Mexican, BBQ, and anything sweet. I think I could live my life only eating chips and queso for every meal. I will also never turn down the opportunity to bake something.

Hi Katlyn! I first want to say Congratulations on your engagement!! That's really cool that he proposed at your favorite place! Your dog is adorable and it’s so awesome that you guys rescued her. I LOVE chips and queso, it’s probably one of my main food groups. My favorite queso is from the restaurant El Patio in Ponca City, Oklahoma.

ReplyDeleteFirst of all, your dog is adorable and congratulations on your engagement! I have never been to Disney land but I am really hoping that I'll be able to go there sooner rather than later. I probably won't have the same experience as you there though, haha. As for food I would recommend trying some pho if you've never had it! There are some pretty good places around campus corner even f.ex. Pho Winner. If you've already had it then I can't really think of anything else for you to try right now. Have a great week!
Hi Katlyn! Congrats on your engagement, how exciting! Your sweet dog is adorable and I love that you and your fiancé adopted her. I also enjoy going to Disney World! Riding all of the rides and enjoying the food is always a great time. My favorite food is chicken, and like you, I stick to what I know i'll like. I do like trying new foods, but when in doubt i'll always go with chicken. It was nice meeting you!
ReplyDeleteHi Katlyn, congratulations on your engagement! I am also very passionate about rescue animals. When I was a senior in high school I convinced my parents to let me bring home two puppies who had been abandon near my school. At the time they were probably around 20-25 pounds, fast-forward to today and they are around 100 pounds! I would definitely recommend branching out and trying seafood! I think it is the best but I may be a little biased. Nice to meet you!
ReplyDeleteHi Katlyn! Congrats on your engagement! Getting engaged in Disney World sounds magical. My roommate has now done the Disney College Program in Disney World twice now, so I wouldn't be surprised if she ended up having a similar story. Your dog looks precious, I imagine she is a welcome addition to your family. Going to an apple orchard for homemade apple pie sounds amazing. I am ready for fall so I am dreaming of days like that.

I hope this class will give you a chance to explore different kinds of social media, marketing, branding, etc. -- there is a lot of storytelling involved in marketing (the Disney mega-corporation is an expert; I know someone who is a marketer for Disney cruises), and maybe you will even want to play with social media storytelling tools in your stories and/or your project for this class. I'm a fan of Twitter, this summer I learned about the Twitter tool called Wakelet which is replacement for the old Storify... Storify was definitely a better name, but the company shut down, so now we have to use Wakelet to make stories-from-tweets, but it works and it's a lot of fun. Anyway, you can see if some tools show up on your horizon that you might want to use for making "media stories" in this class. :-)

Sounds like a lot of fun… especially since you got engaged! What a magical place to have such a happy memory. Lola is so cute! I love her name. ReplyDeleteI've never been to Disney World, and I'm super jealous you've gone so many times. Getting engaged there too? That's really cute :) I cannot agree more with your sentiment of "adopt, don't shop." So many animals are already in need of a good home, and it seems such a waste to turn them down in favor of expensive and dubiously thorough-bred animals. I think if I had to eat only one type of food for the rest of my life, it would be Mexican; there's so many options and flavors I'd never get bored.

I think it's really nice that you're doing Marketing, as my girlfriend is doing a double major with that and supply-chain management. You two might even know each other! Hi Katlyn! I am also from Tulsa and just like you I'm in love with Disney World! Congrats on getting engaged there, that sounds absolutely magical. What are some of your favorite rides and parks there? I love Epcot especially during the food and wine festival,,, because I really love food. Mexican is also one of my favorites and you really can't go wrong with chips and queso for every meal!

ReplyDeleteFirst of all, congratulations on your engagement! It's such a wild ride and such a sweet time. I hope that you both enjoy every moment of it. Disneyland is a magical place as it is but I imagine it will always be more so for the two of you. Also, I love that you chose to adopt a pup! So many good dogs wait in shelters for homes, and it's clear that Lola is really lucky to have you. I also love Pinterest and am also recently engaged, so Pinterest has been something between a best friend and a black hole. It's hard not to spend all of my free time planning! I hope that your planning goes well and that the two of you continue to grow together in the coming months.

Congratulations on being so close to graduation... only a couple months left now! I love baking too and just made a pumpkin bread with cream cheese recipe I found online that turned out great!
