Reading Notes: Russian Folktales

The Dead Mother Russian Fairy Tales by W. R. S. Ralston (1887):
A husband and wife lived in a village and all their neighbors were jealous of them.
The wife had a son and shortly after died.
The husband hired an old women to look after it.
The baby would cry all day long but at night it was quiet. So the old women and husband decided to stay up at night and figure out what the reason was.
One night they discovered the dead mother standing over the baby feeding it. When they put light on her she went away and then they discovered the baby was dead.
